THE MOON

The moon is the only natural satellite that the Earth has and it is the largest in the Solar System, with a radius of 1,737.10 km. It is the brightest object in the sky after the Sun.
It was formed 4.5 billion years ago when the Earth impacted with a body that was the size of Mars.
Its rotation is syncronized with the Earth's and it's always showing the same face.
Its surface is covered with multiple craters.
The Moon has a regular cycle of phases and it has an influence on the Earth that produces the ocean tides and the length of the days.
It is the only body in space that humans have set foot on. The first man who landed on the Moon was Neil Amstrong on 21st July 1969 with the Apollo 11 spaceflight and it was a historical event that was broadcasted on TV worldwide.
